Foot Tracker Upgrade Kit

The Foot Tracker Upgrade Kit adds two trackers and two straps dedicated to foot tracking. Foot trackers go on top of the foot and give you per-foot orientation in VR.

What’s in the kit

  • 2 × IBIS 2.0 trackers
  • 2 × 30 cm basic silicone-backed straps with trays and hooks (see Basic Straps & Trays) — these also work for arms
  • Optionally a Styria receiver, if you picked the “include receiver” variant

The Foot Tracker Upgrade Kit ships with basic straps only; there is no comfort-strap variant, and Premium sets use basic foot straps too.

Pair the new trackers

Kits ordered with a receiver come pre-paired to it. Kits ordered without a receiver need to be paired to your existing one, on a matching firmware version — see Pairing and Updating Firmware.

Where they go

Top of the foot only. Strap across the instep, tracker on the bridge of the foot. Per SlimeVR’s mounting guidance, the tracker’s “up” face should point toward the ankle and its “front” face should point toward the ceiling.

Do not mount foot trackers on the lower shin or ankle — the SlimeVR Server expects foot trackers on the foot itself, and tracking accuracy suffers if they’re placed elsewhere.

See Wearing Trackers for the recommended orientation.

Notes

  • Make sure the tracker is inside the silicone tray before stepping into shoes/slippers. The tracker is small but it’s not crush-rated.
  • Foot trackers are the hardest for the receiver to see (low to the ground, often shadowed by your body). If you see dropouts, raise your receiver — see Range & Placement.
